With the objective to support the Colombo Process Member States’ commitments related to these frameworks on migration, which were articulated in the Kathmandu Declaration, the Chair-in-Office of the Colombo Process convened the <i>Consultation on the Colombo Process Engagement in the Global Frameworks related to Migration: Towards the Effective Implementation, Follow-up and Review</i> in Bangkok on 22–23 May 2019.</p>

<p>Labour Attachés posted in overseas missions of Colombo Process Member States play a critical role in ensuring the welfare of migrant workers from their home countries by dealing with all employment-related matters. Their functions also cover the employment promotion and identification of job opportunities for their nationals abroad as well as protection of migrant workers from unscrupulous recruiters and employers.</p>
