<p style="font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;">Global Frameworks related to Migration provides the opportunity for Colombo Process Member States to strengthen labour migration governance. With the objective to support the Colombo Process Member States’ commitments related to these frameworks on migration, which were articulated in the Kathmandu Declaration, the Chair-in-Office of the Colombo Process convened the <i>Consultation on the Colombo Process Engagement in the Global Frameworks related to Migration: Towards the Effective Implementation, Follow-up and Review</i> in Bangkok on 22–23 May 2019.</p>

Their functions also cover the employment promotion and identification of job opportunities for their nationals abroad as well as protection of migrant workers from unscrupulous recruiters and employers.</p>
