G2G Agreements – Following a series of meetings between the governments of Malaysia and Bangladesh, the Malaysian government had proposed to hire a large number of workers from Bangladesh. By reaching an agreement between the two governments, and minimizing the involvement of third parties, the cost of migration for Malaysia came down to BDT 30,000 from an estimated BDT 200,000 that migrants were paying before this agreement.
